The engagement

We assist founders with the financial and governance aspects of building a business. Mentoring is organised around defined decisions and deliverables, such as reviewing a financial model, assessing funding needs or preparing information for investor diligence.

Scope of work

  • Entity structure and founder ownership considerations
  • Revenue assumptions, cost structure and cash runway
  • Financial models and funding requirement assessment
  • Investor information and financial data room preparation
  • Governance, cap table review and financial reporting arrangements
  • DPIIT recognition and tax eligibility assessment where applicable
  • Unit economics, ESOP and convertible instrument financial analysis

Engagement deliverables

The engagement may result in a financial model, assumptions note, funding requirement analysis, investor information checklist and a prioritised governance plan. Mentoring sessions review progress against the agreed actions.

How the work begins

  1. Describe the requirement. Identify the entity, proposed transaction or matter and any deadline.
  2. Review acceptance and scope. We assess the facts, competence, independence and other relevant professional requirements.
  3. Agree written terms. Confirm responsibilities, records, deliverables and the intended use of the work.

Common question

Does investment readiness mean funding is assured?

No. It improves the quality and organisation of information presented to investors. An investor’s decision remains independent and depends on the business and investment terms.
