The engagement

We undertake internal audit and risk review assignments covering financial, operational and compliance processes. The scope identifies the activities to be examined, reporting responsibilities and follow-up arrangements.

Scope of work

  • Risk assessment and internal audit planning
  • Internal financial control reviews
  • Operational and compliance process reviews
  • SOP assessment and process documentation
  • Management reporting and remediation follow-up

Engagement deliverables

Deliverables may include a risk assessment, internal audit report, exceptions register and prioritised corrective-action plan. Management retains responsibility for controls and implementation.

How the work begins

  1. Describe the requirement. Identify the entity, proposed transaction or matter and any deadline.
  2. Review acceptance and scope. We assess the facts, competence, independence and other relevant professional requirements.
  3. Agree written terms. Confirm responsibilities, records, deliverables and the intended use of the work.

Common question

Does an internal audit replace a statutory audit?

No. The objectives, reporting basis and responsibilities differ. Each assignment requires its own agreed scope.
